Teddy and Dana are Headed to SoCal

Teddy and Dana (both long-term dogs who arrived in October 2009) have been adopted by volunteer Courtney S. and her family. They will be leaving the shelter in mid-May, when Courtney's parents come to town to take Courtney home to San Diego at the end of the UC school year. Courtney is over the moon with delight at the prospect of bringing two of her favorite shelter dogs into a forever-home that is HERS! More to come . . .

This is such wonderful news! It feels awesome knowing that Teddy and Dana, both such loving and happy dogs will go to a home that we know will cherish them for the rest of their lives.

We'll miss you over the summer, Courtney - but we know you'll be spending time with those doggies for those nice longs walks you like to take with them. Be sure to try to take Teddy hiking - he loves it!

It's the best when a volunteer takes a dog because you know they are in generous, responsible and lovingly altruistic hands. Plus they really know the dogs so there's a better chance for a happy ending.

They make such a great-looking couple, too :D I am so happy for them and grateful to Courtney. Teddy and Dana deserve it - at long last, hooray!

Thanks so much everyone for your support! I LOVE these doggies so much, and they mean so much to me. My family is so happy to welcome them into our home. San Diego is a perfect place for these active dogs! I know we will have loads of fun running around town together. Thanks to all of the volunteers who helped make Teddy and Dana's stay at the shelter the best possible. I will post pictures and stories once the dogs get settled in to update you all.

p.s. please feel free to spend as much time with these two before they leave. I don't want to hog them :)
