We thought of ourselves as Angel's Auntie Alexandra and Auntie Barbara. I wish I could have better protected and nurtured you, Angel. And from Barbara: 'Rest in peace Sweet Angel. Life was never easy for you. For those of us who loved you it was an honor to give you the love and comfort you deserved during your short stay with us. You you will always live in our hearts.' I, too, felt honored: Thank you, Angel, for allowing me to sit in your kennel, though you were initially terrified of this big intruder in your fragile space. Thank you for honoring me with your approaches and for letting me finally nuzzle your ears.To echo what Barbara has said, it was an honor to receive your trust and love. [Angel and Hendrix left us on the same day; you can find a tribute to Hendrix on Pam's Facebook page.]

This is a beautiful memorial to the sweet Angel who was in our midst for much too short a time. Thank you both Barbara and Alexandra for all the time, attention, and love you gave to Angel. I'm sure it's the first time she experienced any of those blessed gifts.
This is so sad I really miss Angel. =( But what happened to Hendrix?
Hendrix was euthanized because he was losing his sanity amidst the chaos of shelter life. He was a sensitive boy who needed a much more serene environment as well as a devoted person in order to thrive. I truly miss him, for I used to take him for a run around the pond in the afternoons to help tire him out and help him to feel that he really did have a person. And he did.
Hi.i wanted to share pics of the two wonderful dogs i adopted from this shelter a year ago. How do i do that?
